Designed to fit the individual needs of the person or athlete, whether it be enhancing personal performance or rehabilitation to overcome injuries. With all the pieces of equipment Joseph Pilates invented we never get bored at the studio. You will also be given at home exercises to work on at your own discretion.

PRIVATE BEACH TRAINING SESSIONS:

This is more for the person to add to their workouts in the studio. Its great to get outside on the beach as well as strengthen some muscles in the sand we often neglect. This is a mixture of cardiovascular, pilates, and plyo-metric exercises designed to increase the persons/athletes cardiovascular levels and strength. This is also good cross training for athletes who perform on hard courts such as tennis or basketball. The sand provides us with a low impact surface and helps to build the fast twitch muscles. The other main focus is to get the heart rate up quickly and drop it down. This not only helps increase calories burned but also strengthens the biggest muscle in the body “the heart”.

CLASS INSTRUCTION:

10am Monday at Mind Body Manhattan

This class consists of work on the foam roller to help loosen and open tight muscles, work on the ballet bar strengthening and stretching the hips, hamstrings, and low backs, and it is followed up by 25-30 minutes of a solid Mat Pilates workout.
